Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (air fry mode).
Pat the wings completely dry with paper towels, then place them in a large bowl.
Toss the wings with the olive oil until evenly coated.
In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Add the spice mixture to the wings and stir until the wings are evenly coated.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the basket, working in batches if needed to avoid crowding.
Cook the wings for 7 minutes, flip them with tongs, then cook an additional 6–8 minutes until golden and crispy and cooked through.
Remove the wings from the air fryer and serve plain, with dip, or tossed in your favorite sauce.
