  • 2 slices sandwich bread hearty bread like sourdough or white
  • 2 tablespoons butter room temperature
  • 3 ounces medium cheddar cheese recommended Tillamook

Method
 

  1. Gather all your ingredients, ensuring the butter is at room temperature for easy spreading.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Layer the cheese on top, followed by the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  4. Turn your skillet to medium heat to allow the sandwich to cook evenly.
  5. Cook the sandwich for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  6. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it sit for a minute, then slice in half and enjoy!
