Method
- Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the Instant Pot.
- Pour 1/2 cup water into the pot around the chicken.
- Seal the lid and set the Instant Pot to High Pressure for 8 minutes (10 minutes if cooking from frozen).
- When the cook time ends, perform a quick pressure release according to your cooker’s instructions.
- Open the lid and check that juices run clear and the internal temperature is 165°F (74°C); slice to verify doneness if needed.
Notes
- Cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
- Store cooked chicken in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
- For make-ahead, portion and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- To freeze, place in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months.
- Thaw frozen cooked chicken overnight in the refrigerator.
