Ingredients

  • 1 whole wheat pita bread
  • 1 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp ranch dressing
  • 1/2 tsp Gourmet Garden Garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 whole fresh jalapeño sliced (seeds removed if you prefer)
  • 1/4 cup chicken breast cooked and shredded
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs

Equipment

  • Oven or toaster oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Knife

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures that your pizza will bake evenly and get that perfect crispy texture.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and garlic. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
Take the whole wheat pita bread and place it on a baking sheet. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pita.
  4. Step 4: Add the Toppings
Layer the sliced jalapeños evenly over the cream cheese mixture, then sprinkle the cooked and shredded chicken breast, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Step 5: Prepare the Crunchy Topping
Mix the melted butter with the panko bread crumbs and sprinkle this mixture over the cheese layer.
  6. Step 6: Bake the Pizza
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the panko topping is golden brown.
  7. Step 7: Slice and Serve
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Slice it into wedges and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can make the cream cheese mixture ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to three days.
  • For a lighter version, use low-fat cream cheese.
  • Adjust the spice level by removing jalapeño seeds or using milder peppers.
