Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 to 3 jalapenos, finely diced adjust according to spice preference
  • 1 pound sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 ½ cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 2 tablespoons milk for moisture
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the breakfast sausage, finely diced jalapenos, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Mix well.
  3. Add in the Bisquick baking mix and stir until fully incorporated.
  4. Pour in the milk and mix until well combined. The mixture should be moist but not overly wet.
  5. Form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Let cool slightly and serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze uncooked sausage balls for up to 3 months; bake from frozen.
  • Adjust jalapenos for desired spice level or try different cheese varieties.
