Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sriracha
  • 2 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed from about one lime

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Storage container

Method

  1. Start by measuring out your ingredients: 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1/4 cup of sriracha, and the juice of 1 lime. Fresh lime juice is key, as it brightens and balances the flavors.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise first, followed by the sriracha and lime juice.
  3. Using a whisk or spoon, mix the ingredients together until they are fully combined. The goal is to create a smooth and creamy consistency without any lumps.
  4. Taste your mixture! If you want it spicier, add a bit more sriracha. If you prefer a tangier flavor, squeeze in a little more lime juice.
  5. Once you’re satisfied with the flavor, transfer your Japanese Spicy Mayo to a sealed storage container. It’s best to let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for freshness.
  • Label the container with the date for easy identification.
  • Can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or vegan mayo for alternatives.
