  • 1/4 cup applesauce or yogurt or pumpkin
  • 3 tbsp oil or 1/4 cup nut butter of choice
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup homemade Nutella or peanut butter or your favorite chocolate spread
  • 1 1/3 cup regular or unrefined sugar or xylitol
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips or more if desired

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Step 2: Drain and rinse the garbanzo beans thoroughly to remove any metallic taste.
  3. Step 3: In a food processor, blend the beans, oats (or flour), applesauce, oil (or nut butter), vanilla extract, baking soda, salt, and baking powder until smooth and creamy.
  4. Step 4: Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl. Stir in the sugar (or xylitol) and chocolate spread until well combined.
  5. Step 5: Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  6. Step 6: Pour the mixture into a greased pie pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  7. Step 7: Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm for a gooey experience or at room temperature for a firmer slice.
