  • ½ cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar lightly packed
  • 1 large egg at room temperature
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients. Start by gathering all your ingredients on the countertop. Ensure your butter is at room temperature for easier mixing. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Step 3: Cream the Butter and Sugar. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Step 4: Add the Egg, Maple Syrup, and Vanilla. Mix in the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  • Step 7: Scoop and Bake. Drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Step 8: Cool and Enjoy. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For the best flavor, use pure maple syrup. Make sure your butter is at room temperature to avoid lumps in the dough.
