Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1.25 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour

Mint Fudge Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.33 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon mint extract
  • to taste green food coloring optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and semisweet chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
  • Add cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Sift in the all-purpose flour and gently fold it into the mixture.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until melted and smooth. Mix in mint extract and food coloring if desired.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spread the mint fudge filling over it, then top with remaining brownie batter.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let cool for at least 15 minutes before lifting out and cooling completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Allowing the brownies to cool will help achieve clean cuts. Use high-quality chocolate for better flavor.
