Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Skillet
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

Cheese

  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 10 sticks string cheese

Meatball Mixture

  • 1.25 pounds Italian seasoned ground turkey
  • 1 egg beaten egg
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking Oil

  • ¼ cup olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Then, add the ground turkey and beaten egg. Mix until just blended.
  • With clean hands, take a portion of the meat mixture about the size of a golf ball. Flatten it slightly, place a stick of string cheese in the center, and fold the meat around the cheese. Roll to create a smooth meatball.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Slice slider buns in half and place on a serving platter. Once the meatballs are cool enough, place one on each slider bottom half. Optionally, top with marinara sauce and additional cheese.
  • Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. These sliders can be made ahead of time and frozen.
