Method
- Bring a medium pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil.
- Add the orzo and cook according to the package directions until al dente, about 7–10 minutes.
- Drain the orzo in a colander, then return it to the pot off the heat.
- Add the butter and stir until melted and evenly coating the pasta.
- Stir in the cream or milk and the shredded Parmesan until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then transfer to a serving dish.
- Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.
