Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups
  • Spoon or Cookie Scoop

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 5 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups Quick Rolled Oats
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Sweetened Shredded Coconut
  • 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace - Ensure your kitchen workspace is clean and organized. Gather all your ingredients and have measuring cups, spoons, and a mixing bowl ready.
  • Step 2: Make the Chocolate Mixture - In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and softened butter. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture gently until it comes to a rolling boil. Once boiling, let it cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, stirring continuously.
  • Step 3: Add in the Vanilla and Salt - Once your mixture is boiling and bubbly, remove it from the heat. Immediately stir in the vanilla extract and salt, mixing well to combine.
  • Step 4: Mix in the Oats and Coconut - Add the quick rolled oats and sweetened shredded coconut to the saucepan. Stir until everything is well combined and the oats are completely coated in the chocolate mixture.
  • Step 5: Add the Chocolate Chips - While the mixture is still warm but not hot, gently fold in both the milk chocolate chips and white chocolate chips.
  • Step 6: Shape the Cookies - Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop generous dollops of the cookie mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper.
  • Step 7: Let Them Set - Allow the cookies to cool at room temperature until they are set, about 30 minutes. Alternatively, refrigerate for quicker setting.
