Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Vegetable Shortening
  • 1 jar Marshmallow Fluff 7 ounces
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons Heavy Whipping Cream to adjust consistency
  • 10 cookies Oreos coarsely chopped

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Electric Mixer
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Storage container

Method

  1. Cream the butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add marshmallow fluff and mix on medium speed until well incorporated.
  3. Gradually add powdered sugar with the mixer on low speed to prevent a sugar cloud; once added, mix on medium speed until fully combined.
  4. Add salt and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.
  5. If the frosting is too thick, add heavy whipping cream, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Gently fold in the coarsely chopped Oreos.
  7. Frost your treats using a spatula or piping bag and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make ahead and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months, thaw in the fridge overnight before using.
  • Re-whip if the frosting has been stored and needs to regain fluffiness.
