Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 package Ranch House Dressing mix
  • 12 ounces wheat thin crackers
  • 12 ounces cheese crackers
  • 12 ounces Ritz crackers

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Airtight Container

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 250°F (120°C). This low temperature will allow the flavors to meld without burning the crackers.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the vegetable oil, garlic salt, seasoned salt, and the Ranch House Dressing mix. Whisk until everything is well blended.
  3. Next, gently add the wheat thins, cheese crackers, and Ritz crackers into the bowl. Use a spatula to carefully mix until all the crackers are evenly coated with the oil and seasoning mixture.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the coated crackers in an even layer on the sheet, ensuring they are not overlapping too much.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for about 30-40 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes to ensure even baking. Keep an eye on them; you want them golden and toasty, not burnt!
  6. Once baked, remove the tray from the oven and let the mixture cool completely. Once cooled, transfer the Party Cracker Mix to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

  • Use olive oil instead of vegetable oil for a richer flavor.
  • Substitute the Ranch Dressing mix with other flavor packets, like taco or Italian seasoning.
  • Opt for gluten-free crackers to make the mix suitable for gluten-sensitive folks.
