Instructions
  1. Step 1: In a small bowl, combine the warm water and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, combine milk, peanut butter, and beaten egg. Add activated yeast to the milk mixture, then mix wet into dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  3. Step 3: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Step 4: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Step 5: Punch down the risen dough, roll out to 1/2 inch thickness, and cut out doughnut shapes. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Step 6: Cover shaped doughnuts with a cloth and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a frying pan.
  8. Step 8: Fry doughnuts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on a cooling rack.
