Ingredients

For the Pupcakes:
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or coconut oil works well)
  • 1 medium banana (mashed)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional, can adjust based on your dog's taste)
  • 1/2 cup flour (whole wheat or oat flour is ideal)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 ounces cream cheese (or an additional 1/2 medium banana)
  • 1/2 medium banana (mashed, or cream cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (for frosting)

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Oven
  • Muffin Tin
  • Dog-friendly frosting tool (like a piping bag)

Method

Directions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: Grease your muffin tin lightly with oil or line it with muffin liners.
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, oil, mashed banana, and honey (if using). Mix until well blended and creamy.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  5. Step 5: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
  7. Step 7: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes.
  8. Step 8: Once baked, remove the pupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. Step 9: While the pupcakes are cooling, mix together the cream cheese, mashed banana, and peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
  10. Step 10: Once your pupcakes are completely cool, frost them generously with the peanut butter frosting.

Notes

  • Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing.
  • Measure ingredients accurately, especially the flour, to avoid dense pupcakes.
  • Never use xylitol as a sweetener, as it is toxic to dogs.
  • Always let the pupcakes cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
