Cooking Instructions:
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla extract.
- Step 4: In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add to wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Step 5: Fold in chocolate chips into the dough.
- Step 6: In another bowl, mix peanut butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
- Step 7: Spread half of the cookie dough in the pan, layer with peanut butter filling, and top with remaining dough.
- Step 8: Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are set.
- Step 9: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free flour blend.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
