Protein Popcorn

Light, crunchy popcorn tossed with protein powder and a touch of sweetener for a quick high-protein snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups air-popped popcorn see notes
  • 1 spritz cooking spray
  • 3/4 cup protein powder vanilla or unflavored
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sweetener white or brown sugar or preferred sweetener

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spoon or spatula for tossing

Method
 

  1. Place 6 cups of air-popped popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. Lightly spritz the popcorn with cooking spray and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the protein powder, salt, cinnamon (if using), and granulated sweetener over the popcorn.
  4. Toss thoroughly until the popcorn is evenly coated with the dry ingredients.
  5. Divide into serving bowls and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Serving size is 3 cups of popcorn.
  • Air-popped, air fryer popcorn, or homemade air-popped popcorn may be used.
  • White or brown sugar works as the granulated sweetener.
  • Store leftover popcorn at room temperature for up to five days.
