Heat a skillet over medium and add the ground turkey (or ground beef).
Cook, breaking up with a spatula or fork, until the meat loses its pink color, then drain any excess fat.
Transfer the cooked meat to the slow cooker.
Add the broken whole wheat spaghetti and the basil marinara to the slow cooker and stir to coat the pasta evenly.
Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours (about 120–180 minutes) until the spaghetti is al dente and tender.
Transfer to a serving platter or bowls and sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan before serving.
