Slow Cooker Zesty BBQ Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 4 to 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 12 oz BBQ sauce 1 (12-oz) bottle
  • 3/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 6-qt slow cooker

Method
 

  1. Add the chicken breasts to the 6-qt slow cooker in a single layer if possible.
  2. Pour the 12-oz bottle of BBQ sauce, 3/4 cup Italian dressing, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is very tender.
  4. Remove the chicken to a cutting board or shred it directly in the slow cooker using two forks; stir the shredded chicken into the sauce to coat.
  5. Serve the BBQ chicken on buns, over nachos, on baked potatoes, or on salads as desired.

Notes

  • Use any store-bought BBQ sauce you prefer.
  • You can substitute chicken tenders or thighs for the breasts.
  • Frozen chicken breasts can be used; increase cook time as needed.
  • Cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours instead of LOW for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Chicken can be shredded, sliced, or served whole.
  • Leftovers may be frozen for later use.
