Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This temperature will give you perfectly toasted crostini.
- Slice the thin baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and extra virgin olive oil together. Brush this mixture generously over the sliced baguette.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the bread is crispy. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning!
- While the bread is toasting, combine the Greek yogurt, cream cheese, chopped dill, lemon juice, and salt in a mixing bowl. Use a spatula to mix everything until smooth and creamy.
- Once the baguette slices are toasted and have cooled slightly, spread a generous dollop of the creamy mixture onto each slice.
- Top each crostini with a piece of smoked salmon, folding it gently to fit the bread.
- Finish off with a sprinkle of capers or a few sprigs of fresh dill for garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy the delightful flavors!
Notes
- These crostini can be made ahead of time by preparing the components separately.
- Try different breads like ciabatta or sourdough for variety.
- Store leftover components separately for best freshness.
