  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Grater
  • Strainer

Method

Directions
  1. Begin by juicing the two lemons into a measuring cup, ensuring you remove any seeds. Set the lemon juice aside. Next, grate two tablespoons of fresh ginger and slice the remaining ginger into thin pieces.
  2. In a large pot, bring six cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the water is boiling, add the freshly grated ginger, sliced ginger, turmeric powder, and the lemon juice. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the honey. Start with half a cup and taste the mixture. You can add more honey if you prefer a sweeter drink.
  5. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  6. If you prefer a smoother drink, use a strainer to remove the ginger pieces before serving.
  7. Pour the drink into mugs or heatproof glasses. If desired, garnish with pomegranate arils and lemon slices for a burst of color and flavor.

Notes

  • For a fresh twist, add mint leaves.
  • A cinnamon stick can enhance the warmth.
  • Adjust sweetness with honey to taste.
