For the Fish:
  • 1 pound black cod either one large fillet or two smaller fillets, skin on
  • 1/2 cup Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade for that delicious glaze
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper to add a touch of heat
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking and enhancing flavor

Method:
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together the Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki Sauce and cayenne pepper.
  3. Step 3: Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the black cod fillets skin-side down for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Flip the fillets and brush the teriyaki sauce mixture over the top side of the fish.
  5. Step 5: Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Remove from the oven, let rest for a couple of minutes, and serve with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables.

Notes

  • Use fresh black cod for the best flavor and texture.
  • Simmer the teriyaki sauce for a thicker glaze.
  • Add sesame seeds or chopped green onions for garnish.
