  • Ingredients needed to prepare the cake mix (typically water, eggs, and oil)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Blue Gel Food Coloring
  • Purple Gel Food Coloring
  • Pink Gel Food Coloring
  • 2 cups condensed milk
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 3.4 ounces vanilla pudding mix
  • 3.4 ounces strawberry pudding mix
  • 4 cups milk
  • 8 ounces whipped topping
  • 1/3 cup sprinkles

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Electric Mixer
  • Baking pans
  • Spatula
  • Cooling rack
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Food color gel

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Cake Mix - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix with the ingredients specified on the package. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  2. Step 2: Divide and Color the Batter - Divide the batter into three bowls and add gel food coloring to each bowl (blue, purple, pink). Stir gently until well mixed.
  3. Step 3: Bake the Cakes - Grease the baking pans and pour the colored batters into each pan, alternating colors. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Make the Pudding Filling - In a bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix, strawberry pudding mix, and milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken, then fold in the whipped topping.
  5. Step 5: Assemble the Cake - Place one cake layer on a platter, spread pudding filling on top, then add the next layer. Repeat if necessary.
  6. Step 6: Frost the Cake - Use the remaining whipped topping to frost the cake. Add colors with gel food coloring and top with sprinkles.

Notes

  • Ensure cake layers are completely cool before frosting to avoid melting the whipped topping.
  • Use homemade cake and pudding for a from-scratch option.
  • This cake is best served the same day but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Add a layer of fruit or candy between the cake layers for an extra surprise!
