Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies (18-ounce, about 40 cookies)
  • 2 bags white chocolate chips (about 4 1/2 cups, recommended Ghirardelli)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Microwave-safe Bowl
  • Parchment Paper
  • Baking Sheet
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Baking Sheet - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, ensuring it covers the entire surface for easy lifting.
  2. Step 2: Crush the Oreos - Crush the Oreo cookies into smaller chunks using a rolling pin or food processor, but avoid turning them into dust.
  3. Step 3: Melt the Chocolate - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and vegetable shortening. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  4. Step 4: Combine and Spread - Fold in the crushed Oreos into the melted chocolate, pour onto the prepared baking sheet, and spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Step 5: Chill and Set - Refrigerate for 1-2 hours or let it set at room temperature until completely hardened.
  6. Step 6: Break and Enjoy - Once set, lift the bark from the parchment paper and break it into pieces. Serve or store for later.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.
  • Add toppings like sea salt or sprinkles before the chocolate sets for extra flavor.
