Ingredients

For the Pizza:
  • 1 large Pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large cooked chicken breast diced
  • 1 tomato diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped (red or green)
  • 1/2 cup artichoke hearts chopped
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Equipment

  • Pizza stone or baking sheet
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Rolling Pin

Method

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you're using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Whisk in the flour, cooking for another minute until it turns a light golden color. Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Spread the white garlic sauce evenly over the rolled-out pizza dough. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the chicken, tomato, mushrooms, onion, artichokes, and spinach. Finish with parmesan cheese and basil.
  5. Carefully place your pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  6. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot, garnished with extra basil if desired.
