Instructions
Gather all your ingredients and tools: a mixing bowl, a whisk or spoon, and an airtight container for storage.
In your mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise with tomato paste or ketchup to form the creamy base.
Add the melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika to the mixture.
Slowly add in the water to adjust the consistency of the sauce.
Stir in the granulated sugar, adjusting the amount if using ketchup.
If desired, add hot sauce, cayenne pepper, or red chili flakes for heat.
Whisk all ingredients thoroughly until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Stir in a little water if the sauce thickens after storage.
